At the end of this conference, the participant will be able to:
• Elaborate about the patient’s view of a hospital stay and the recovery process from a traumatic brain injury.
• Discover pet therapy, the professional associations that provide certified dog training, and the benefits during a hospital stay.
• Identify several pharmacotherapy options for patients with a traumatic brain injury.
• Recognize the anger and depression often felt by traumatic brain injury patients and describe treatments available to alleviate these symptoms.
• Discuss chronic pain and resources available to help patients who suffer.
