Our Goal: To provide a quality educational opportunity to rehabilitation professionals that spans the continuum
as it relates to the diversity of settings and the past, present and future of Rehabilitation Nursing.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
1. Define the current treatment and rehabilitation protocols for stroke, bilateral joint replacements, brain injury, pediatric challenges, DPS, and current infectious disease challenges
2. Describe the use and misuse of medications in rehabilitation settings
3. Describe the technology available to patients to promote functional independence and decrease the need for attendant care
4. Describe the potential ethical dilemmas confronted by rehabilitation nurses when discharging patients
5. Describe the behaviors and reporting mechanisms for violence in the workplace as well as recognize the symptoms of domestic violence
6. Describe the current trends in healthcare reform
