2011 Diabetes Nursing Conference

Nurses and other care providers interact with individuals with diabetes across all healthcare settings. This conference is designed to promote a better understanding of diabetes and the impact of diabetes self management on individuals and families living with this condition. Information presented during the conference is intended to provide strategies healthcare providers can use to promote diabetes self management, as well as an awareness of available technology for individuals to better self manage their diabetes. A panel of adults who live with diabetes will discuss their experiences with managing diabetes as part of their daily lives.
An hour of advanced nursing practice pharmacotherapeutic continuing education is included.
The goals of the conference are to:
* Promote a better understanding of the disease of diabetes.
* Provide strategies for living with diabetes.
* Increase awareness of the challenges and opportunities experienced by people living with diabetes.
The conference is designed for certified diabetes educators, nurses in all specialties, and all other healthcare professionals interested in the care of patients with diabetes.
