Heart Disease and Stroke Conference: Getting to the Heart of the Matter

This one-day conference will focus on care across the specialties of medical and surgical cardiology, vascular medicine, and neurology. Topics for the 2011 conference include care of patients from childhood through end of life. Current national guidelines, innovative technology, early stroke treatment, wound care, sleep apnea are among the many presentations.

An hour of advanced nursing practice pharmacotherapeutic continuing education is included.
The goals of the conference are to:

* Discuss new treatment strategies across the specialties of cardiac, neurological, and vascular patient care.
* Use research to provide evidence-based patient care.
* Present the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s guidelines for care of heart and stroke patients across all age groups.
* Provide health enhancement strategies for healthcare professionals.
