Sensory Perceptual Deficits that Contribute to Apraxic Behavior - Brain Injuries Pre-Conference B
| State | Texas |
| Country | USA |
Clients with apraxia are often the most challenging to train; identifying and documenting apraxic behavior can help establish medical necessity and communicate the need for skilled services. This presentation provides an analysis of the terms, along with several conceptual models that enables practitioners to more carefully use published terminology to describe the motor planning and executive problems presented by clients who are demonstrating apraxic behavior. An analysis of the sensory-perceptual impairments that contribute to apraxia will provide clinicians with the skills to observe and document deficits as well as to design therapeutic intervention plans for clients with deficits in cognitive/sensory perception.
