Susan D. Newman, Ph.D, RN, CRRN
[Email Susan D. Newman]

Susan has been a rehabilitation nurse for 14 years, and a certified rehabilitation registered nurse for 11 years. She presently serves as Secretary of the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association. She has published in Rehabilitation Nursing, Rehabilitation Psychology, SCI Nursing, Advances in Nursing Science, and Progress in Community Health Partnerships. Her research has been funded by the Agency on Healthcare Research and Quality and the Rehabilitation Nursing Foundation. Her research thus far has focused on increasing community participation of people with spinal cord injury by addressing barriers that individuals using wheelchairs encounter in the community. The video below is one result of her work with a group of people with spinal cord injury using the research method Photovoice.

Through the process of maintaining CRRN certification, Susan identified the strong need for an online resource that provides a compilation of continuing education in the field of rehabiltation nursing.

This website is the direct response to this need.
